We’ve committed to our creative endeavors this year. We spent all of yesterday in the cafe working on Isaiah’s sketchbook and a children’s story. It was a beautiful day, filled with close friends, four-or-five bottles of champagne and projects that exercised our creative minds.
Through our chronic state of unemployment and an interest in being more creative, I committed to all handmade gifts this Christmas and had a great time with it. I used to be a serious cross-stitcher. Except that I was around 12 years old when I quit. Yikes.
Embroidering and working on some crafty, homemade goodness lately has been therapeutic. A friend of mine and I have been talking with five or six local stores about consigning our work – design and handmade-wise. It has me thinking – through all of the DIY-project searches I’ve done for inspiration as of lately, looking for radical handmade Christmas gift ideas and what not, finding non-wedding projects that are actually awesome is kind of a tough hunt.
So from my Pinterest to you in the wake of ChristmaHanaKwanzika and the creation of my apparent love for blog series’…I want to share a badass DIY with a tutorial every Sunday. If you strenuously object, we’ll talk in chambers. Wait…I’ve been watching way too much Boston Legal.
